Future Models of Africa is an original talent discovery and development format. It pairs the drama of a televised search with the structure, mentorship, and industry access needed to turn potential into real opportunity.

01 / WHY IT EXISTS

Potential is everywhere. Access isn’t.

Across Africa, remarkable young people often have the instinct, presence, and ambition to enter the fashion and creative industries—but lack proximity to trusted scouting, professional guidance, and visible routes forward.

Future Models of Africa was developed to close that gap. The format discovers original talent in local markets, then gives finalists an honest development journey viewers can follow—from first casting to real industry readiness.

02 / SEASON 01

Africa is not one story. Season 1 begins with two.

A format called Future Models of Africa cannot pretend Africa is one story. With 54 countries and an extraordinary range of cultures, identities and creative traditions, a single season cannot do justice to the continent it seeks to represent.

FMA begins with The Gambia and Senegal for a reason. Connected by geography, history, culture, people, and generations of movement across their shared borders, the two countries form a natural starting point for the FMA journey. This first season explores their shared cultural ties and distinct creative identities, giving both the space to be represented on their own terms while showing the world how deeply connected they are.

WHO CAN APPLY

Season 1 is open to aspiring models living in Senegal and The Gambia, as well as members of the Senegalese and Gambian diaspora worldwide. Selected applicants will be invited to major in-person castings this winter.

This is not a smaller vision. It is a more intentional one. Each season will open a new cultural chapter, allowing FMA to grow across the continent with depth, not dilution, and bringing each place to the global stage with the attention it deserves.

03 / THE DIFFERENCE

More than a competition.
